Fabio De

George Ezra

Described as having the perfect mix of Brazilian passion and British sensibility, Fabio's natural feel and broad understanding of various musical styes makes him one of London's most versatile and in demand drummer/percussionists.

Raised in London to Brazilian parents, from a young age there was no doubt Fabio wanted to be amusician. Influenced by his father, world renowned Brazilian percussionist Bosco De Oliveira andhis mothers' passion for Soul music, the cultural melting pot that Fabio called home facilitated the beginning of his musical journey.

Sitting in on London School Of Samba rehearsals and gigs with the likes of Robin Jones' 'King Salsa', by the time he left school, Fabio played professionally both as a percussionist and a drummer boasting an impressive C.V. for his age including live mainstream radio appearances, supporting Dianne Reeves with Terry Callier at Antwerp Jazz Festival and winning the 'Charlotte Coleman Scholarship'.

Straight out of school, Fabio went on to gain a Higher Diploma in Music Performance from 'Drumtech School of Drums and Percussion', a course he went on to teach the following year. Along side this, Fabio joined eclectic outfit 'Something Simple' as a percussionist with whom he released two E.P's and performed extensively in the U.K. until 2011. During this time he also worked with Indy/Pop chart band 'Friendly Fires' performing at Reading Festival, Glastonbury, NME Awards Show and recording on their 2010 single 'Kiss of Life'.

In 2011 Fabio graduated with a First Class Honors Degree in Music Performance and Production from the 'London Centre Of Contemporary Music'. From his teachers, he gained a wealth of knowledge in many different areas of music. His teachers included Simon Wallace, Sid Gauld, Dave O'Higgins, Richard Brooks, Graham Fox and production teacher Richie Stevens who gave him the opportunity to perform and record with funk legend George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic.

Fresh out of university Fabio was asked to be one of 25 'Drum Captains' at the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Working alongside Rick Smith, Mike Dolbear, Ralph Salmins, Paul Clarvis and the other captains, the 9 month process included auditioning, teaching and rehearsing over 1,000 drummers, the final performance itself and a recording session at Abbey Road Studios in which Fabio recorded music used for the ceremony.

In 2014 Fabio landed the job as stickman for number one selling artist George Ezra, giving him the opportunity to tour extensively performing on some of the world's biggest stages includingGlastonbury Pyramid Stage, Madison Square Gardens, Montreux Jazz Festival, Coachella Music Festival and The Brits. Fabio has also backed George Ezra on T.V shows such as Saturday NightLive, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with James Corden, The Graham Norton Show, Alan Carr Chatty Man and Top Of The Pops.

Other current projects include, soul duo – The Odd910 and world music orchestra – Teotima. Fabio is available for live work, studio work, teaching, producing and composing.
