
Handy Salim is an Indonesian drummer, born and raised in Jakarta and now lives in Indonesia.
Starting to play drum since 9 years old, Handy has a big passion on drums and learn drum all by himself. As he grow up in the church drumming, he started his carreer as drummers since he was 21 years old. Famous for his great technique among Indonesian drummers, Handy also well-known for his improved traditional grip which is hardly to find nowadays in a local drum scene.
Handy has played drums on several records over the past years for a variety of artists including Aminoto Kosin Orchestra, One in Love, Life tree, Vina Panduwinata, Jacket Potato Band, Dian Pramana Putra, Rio Moreno Trio, and JPCC Worship; a well famous Indonesia worship group.
Since 2012, Handy Salim has played drums for Indonesian singer/soloist Sammy Simorangkir. He was the drummer during Sammy’s 2013-2016 album tour. And since then, Handy has spent more time in the studio with Sammy working on new material for his upcoming record.
Handy now works as a lecturer for UPH College of Music in Indonesia.
