Previous to playing second kit and percs with Modest Mouse for 7 years (next to Jerimiah Green), Joe played with The Black Heart Procession, Caustic Resin and The Replikants. Starting in 2009, he moved to the single kit with The Shins and in 2010 co-founded Mister Heavenly. When there's any down time from touring or recording, he's either starting or joining new projects, doing session work, touring or freaking out with mics, drums and keyboards.
