Turgut Alp Bekoğlu

Turgut Alp Bekoglu is revered by music authorities as one of Turkey's most influential drummers. His impressive career boasts performances at some of the world's most prestigious festivals, including the 1995 USA Houston International Festival and the 1998 Norh Sea Jazz Festival.

Arif Mardin's Invitation

Bekoglu's talent caught the eye of legendary music producer Arif Mardin. In 1996, Mardin invited Bekoglu to New York for further musical exploration. During this time, Bekoglu received invaluable mentorship and support from Mardin.


Telvin Trio and Beyond

Together with Erkan Oğur and İlkin Deniz, Bekoglu co-founded the Telvin Trio in 1995. Their talent resonated with music giants like Arif Mardin, Ahmet Ertegün, and İlhan Mimaroğlu during the 2004 "Jazz Made in Turkey" Concert at Lincoln Center in New York.

Collaborations
Bekoglu's impressive career includes sharing the stage and collaborating with musical heavyweights like Gloria Gaynor, Marcus Miller, Geoge Benson, Joe Lovano, Erik Truffaz, and even Turkish superstar Sezen Aksu.

A Continuing Legacy
Today, Bekoglu remains active in the music scene. He pursues personal projects, conducts private rhythm and drum lessons, engages in music research and consultancy, and offers workshops. He also continues to grace the stage with various projects, including those with Ajda Pekkan, Erkan Oğur / Telvin, and İlhan Erşahin's Istanbul Sessions.
