Lucky Pereira is an Australian drummer and producer based in Naarm (Melbourne).
Born into a musical family and guided by his Sri Lankan/South African heritage, Lucky has developed a rarified poise across groove and instrumental music. Inspired heavily by community and culture, he has grown into
one of Naarm’s most dependable and distinct session artists.
Growing up on traditional music, metal and punk/rock, Lucky later studied jazz and improvisation at the University Of Melbourne (VCA) and incorporates elements of Hip Hop, Detroit techno, House, RnB, Papare music and a love for DJ sets into his sound.

In 2024 Lucky was nominated for “Best Musician” at the Music Victoria Awards.
Lucky also djs/produces techno under the alias “SURANA”. He aims to use his rhythmic skillset to create an invigorating, colourful sound. Pushing minimalism, atmosphere and bounce.
