Benjamin Lim is a Singapore-based drummer whose musical journey began at the age of 13 through his school’s military band programme. What began as a school activity soon evolved into a lifelong passion, eventually leading him into Singapore’s vibrant live and recording music scene.
Benjamin first established himself performing regularly in local clubs and bars before joining the post-hardcore band Villes. During his eight years with the band, he was actively involved in writing, recording, touring, and performing, experiences that helped shape his musical voice and establish his presence within Singapore’s alternative music community.
Over the years, Benjamin has developed a reputation as a versatile session drummer, performing and recording with artists across a diverse range of genres. His collaborations include Gareth Fernandez, Say’s It All, Kelly Lloyd, In Each Hand A Cutlass, and Meiting. He has also performed as part of multiple show bands for productions at Mediacorp, Singapore’s leading broadcasting company.
In 2017, Benjamin was invited as a guest performer at the Singapore Drum Fest, further highlighting his standing within the local drumming community.
Benjamin currently performs with Singapore-based cover band Too Much Drama (TMD) and teaches drums at Thunder Rock School, where he mentors aspiring drummers. Active in both live performance and studio work, he continues to collaborate with artists across the Singapore music scene while proudly representing Istanbul Agop Cymbals.
