Born in 1980; Christoph Steiner is a swiss-based drummer playing a wide range of music from Jazz & Experimental to more backbeat-oriented styles, incorporating his dynamic and expressive drumming.
He studied Drums at the Jazzdepartement of the University of Arts in
Berne (Switzerland) with Billie Brooks and Jan Fabricky.
His touring-schedule ranges from the local jazzclub to international
jazz festivals to concert halls such as Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie. He's playing drums and marimba with renowned vocalist Andreas Schaerer's internationally touring group Hildegard Lernt Fliegen since the band's establishment in 2005, including the orchestra-collaboration 'The Big Wig'. Christoph is writing, releasing and performing with his own trio Escape Argot and the duo Stucki&Steiner with saxophonist Marc Stucki.
