Rodrigo Rodriguez-Puerta

Rodrigo Rodriguez, percussionist, producer, arranger, singer and composer. Rodrigo was born in Cartagena (1974), Colombia, where he was surrounded by Afro-Colombian rhythm and music.
Rodrigo studied at the respected Escuela de Bellas Artes de Cartagena. Then he joined the popular music ensembles of Joseito Martinez, Ballet Nacional de Colombia, Orquesta La Octava Potencia.
Rodrigo moved to Switzerland and began playing with Tony Martinez and The Cuban Power (Latin jazz & funk). He later travelled extensively with Alfredo de la Fe where he experienced extensive worldwide exposure.
Rodrigo's live playing credits include his work with the late Celia Cruz, Giovanni Hidalgo, Eddie Palmieri, Tony Martinez, Tito Nieves, Richie Ray, Jimmy Bosch, Ray Sepulveda, Dave Valentin, Frankie Morales, Los Hermanos Moreno, Albita Rodríguez, Cheo Feliciano, José Alberto ‘El Canario’, Julio Barreto, New York Salsa All Stars, Andy Montañez, willy Chirino, and It has shared scene with artists like GEORGE BENSON, CARLOS SANTANA, ANASTACIA, BARRY WHITE, DEEP PURPLE, KOOL AND THE GANG, TOM JONES and countless other high-profile music acts.
Rodrigo currently resides in Europe and has established himself as a respected musician, band director, and master percussionist, Composer, Singer and Rapper and continues to push the boundaries of his craft. Through his percussion workshops and recorded works, Rodrigo shares his knowledge and insight with up-and-coming percussionists.
