Born in 1994 in Amasya, Berke Köymen moved to Ankara shortly after his birth. He started playing bass guitar and drums during his primary school years. In middle school, he played the alto saxophone and performed symphonic pieces in the school's wind orchestra. During his high school years, he focused on drums, taking lessons from Gerçek Dorman, and his high school band was awarded the Best Performance prize at the 2010 Hürriyet Genç Nota Intercollegiate Music Competition.
Driven by a passion for positive sciences, in 2012, he began studying Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology (TOBB ETÜ). Influenced by drum lessons with Akın Bağcıoğlu during this period, he decided to pursue music professionally. The seeds of his current improvisational practice were planted during this time, particularly through collaborations with the Yüzen Oda collective. As his passion for music grew, he decided to shift his undergraduate studies to focus on music. In 2015, he was awarded a scholarship to study at Istanbul Bilgi University's Music Department, and relocated to Istanbul.
Throughout his time in Istanbul, he continued his work in drumming, exploring a wide range of technical and aesthetic aspects, both in written and improvised music. He had the opportunity to accompany various talented minds from different cultural backgrounds and influences in live performances and recordings, such as Mabel Matiz, Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut, Lil Zey, Ozbi, Can Güngör, and Dilan Balkay. In Cenk Esen's album "It's Family Thing," he stamped his name alongside highly influential figures like Aydın Esen and Randy Esen by playing drums on the track "Joyride."
In addition to drumming, he is also interested in composition, production, arrangement, and sound engineering. He took on the arrangement of Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut's album "Ölüm Dansı" along with the band’s stage team. Furthermore, he actively participates in determining live arrangements in the bands/projects he is involved in. Currently, he is working on his own compositions.
