Pavel Timofeev is a graduate of Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. He is a winner of many russian and international Jazz contests. He is a constant participant of many Jazz festivals worldwide. In 2009 Pavel studied course in the Brubeck Institute in California.
Pavel played with international jazz stars, such as: Dave Brubeck, Michael Brecker, Joey Kalderazzo, Dennis Rowland, Jaleel Shaw, Larry Willis etc.
He worked as a drummer with many russian Jazz artists and bands: Igor Butman Orchestra, Georgy Garanian Orchestra, Anatoly Kroll Orchestra, Nikolay Levinovskiy's band "Allegro", Ivan Farmakovskiy, Vitlaly Golovnyov, Sergey Golovnya, David Goloschyokin, Vladimir Danilin, Valery Ponomarev, Igor Brill, Valery Grohovskiy, Boris Frumkin, Alexey Kuznetsov, Grigory Fain, Alexander Oseychuk and many others.
Pavel started his career playing with blues, rock, jazz-rock and reggae bands and artists: Old Man's Blues Band, Magic Pump, Gera Morales and Jah Divizion, Igor Kulik and "Ostrov" band, Inna Zhelannaya and "Farlanders" band, Nikolay Arutyunov, Dmitry Chetvergov etc.
Now Pavel is a drummer in russian band "Neschastniy Sluchay" and Daniil Kramer's trio. In 2014 he started his own jazz project "Pavel Timofeev's quintet/sextet" where he plays with Moscow jazz "high life" musicians.
