
Bergur Einar is a drummer based in Iceland. In 2009 when Bergur was only 12 years he entered the highly acclaimed Battle of the Bands in Iceland (Músíktilraunir) along with his elementary school band. At the time he was the youngest competitor amongst the 42 bands competing and was eventually selected as the “best drummer” of the competition. After that there was no turning back.
In 2013 Bergur moved from the small town he grew up in to the capital. There he enrolled in FÍH (Music School - Association of Icelandic Musicians). He started playing with various musicians and has been working professionally as a drummer since 2016. At the end of 2017 he was offered to go on tour around Europe with the popular indie-folk artist Ásgeir Trausti who has the highest selling album in the history of Iceland. After a successful tour his name became better known within the Icelandic music industry which led to more doors opening. Bergur has every year since played more than a hundred shows a year with many of Iceland’s most popular artists.
Bergur has been touring with his band Vök around Europe and USA since 2017. In the last few years he has slowly become one of the most sought-after session drummers in the Icelandic music industry.
Bergur plays the drums with two of Iceland's biggest domestic female popstars, Bríet and GDRN, he also has recorded over 120 songs in the last five years, Among all these projects Bergur also works with various other artists such as Jón Jónsson, Friðrik Dór, Herra Hnetusmjör, Hipsumhaps, JóiPé, Grammy-nominated Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Idol TV house band, Kristín Sesselja, Séra Bjössi, Matthildur, Aron Hannes, Krassasig, to name a few.
